The Snack-Pack Program is administered by the local United Way in partnership with various ministries in the New Holly Light Missionary Baptist Church. They operate throughout the school year. The program will target 150 to 200 under-resourced and equity-deserving students in grades 1st through 12th in our service area. On a weekly basis, students receive non-perishable food items over the weekend. In partnership with the local Elks Lodge and the local United Way these items are unloaded from delivery trucks and delivered to four schools in the service area. There will be no fee charged to the students receiving these weekend food bags. College and university students and student organizations, for example fraternities and sororities, science clubs or teacher education majors, will work as volunteers to satisfy their Service-Learning hours or community service requirement hours required for graduation.
